Seasonal Programmes

Seasonal Programmes

If we align our lifestyle and dietary habits with seasonal changes we promote overall wellbeing and vitality. Many of the Eastern traditions including Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda make connections between the changing seasons and the health of different organs in our body and associated emotions. It is these traditions that have inspired our practice and is the basis of our seasonal programmes.

"An introduction into remembering we are human, who moves with the cycles of the earth!

The opportunity to read the well laid out e-book ahead of the call allows you to start on your journey and head into the call with knowledge of what is coming and also a really useful “bible” to refer back to.

The sessions are tailored to attendees with as much or as little information as you need. No pressure to speak or “team build”. You hold your own space and interactions." Kim M

Group Supervision

Professional supervision is a pillar of excellence for coaches, therapists, and practitioners. It not only safeguards your personal wellbeing but also provides an invaluable external viewpoint, unveiling potential blind spots in your approach.

Our inherent tendency as humans is to align our thinking with our existing beliefs. This makes an outside perspective invaluable for growth and improvement.

Starting this September, we're introducing online group supervision sessions tailored for holistic practitioners, coaches, and therapists.

These sessions offer a nurturing environment where we emphasise mutual support and collective growth. Practitioners are requested to commit to some general housekeeping regarding confidentially, cameras on etc. During these two-hour sessions, we address your challenges and field questions on a wide array of relevant topics. Join us to enhance your practice and benefit from shared wisdom in a supportive community.

I’m passionate about teaching these skills to others in a way that supports and gives credence to NLP and its effectiveness as a powerful coaching and therapeutic model. Creating training programmes that not only teach NLP and coaching skills but also demonstrate, through experiential learning, how powerful these tools can be if you allow the mind and body to do the talking by teaching flexibility in the processes. The mind is incredibly wise and knowing, the body is a wealth of information and experience. Teaching students how to recognise, hold space and allow the process to flow creates powerful outcomes.

To gain a credible diploma in hypnotherapy that insurance companies will accept, training must be in-person. Therefore all diplomas are taught in person. The Mind Body Gut Company can apply for DBS checks on your behalf to add to your credibility.

About

Our Mission

Our mission is to be the training provider of choice for health and wellbeing practitioners dedicated to an integrated, holistic approach to mind, body, and gut health. We strive to empower our participants by combining traditional wisdom and the latest research to acquire knowledge and skills to address what are considered to be lifelong conditions effectively.

By combining evidence-based practices from multiple disciplines, our programmes equip practitioners to guide clients towards achieving optimal wellbeing through natural, comprehensive care.

We are committed to advancing an integrative healthcare model that treats the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.

Our goal is to cultivate a community of passionate professionals capable of transforming lives through personalised, integrated mind, body, and gut therapies.

Nikki Emerton and Laura Shipp's journeys began at a similar time and from a similar starting point, both qualifying in NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching at the same training institute. Nikki was Laura's examiner for her practical exam.

Laura then moved into the somatic work of Systematic Kinesiology® and naturopathic nutrition. Nikki continued to specialise in the mind-body connection and mindset and more recently moved into training.

One thing both Nikki and Laura found was the need for both the major brains in the body (mind-brain and gut-brain) to be aligned as well as considering the entire energetic body and individual in order to achieve the health and happiness their clients yearned for.

After a period of cross-referring regularly and sharing client success stories, Nikki and Laura realised they needed to join forces formally. The Mind Body Gut Company was born.

WHO WE ARE

The Mind-Gut Connection

By working simultaneously with the two major 'brains' we are far more likely to achieve optimal health in mind and body and less likely to suffer from health issues.

The interdependent relationship between the mind and gut is a fascinating thing. The gut influences our mind just as much as our mind influences our gut. They really cannot be separated despite what conventional western medicine may at times have us believe.

Getting an upset stomach during times of stress is another example of the bidirectional link between our central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and our enteric nervous system (known as our second brain) via the vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve represents the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for a range of bodily functions including controlling our mood and digestion (rest and digest). Whereas the sympathetic nervous system is responsible for our fight or flight instinct. The enteric, parasympathetic and sympathetic systems together form our autonomic nervous system.

If we are sympathetic dominant (waiting to react) we will not fully rest our mind nor digest essential nutrients, such as tryptophan. Tryptophan is an amino acid and the precursor for the happy hormone serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter which plays a significant role in emotions and happiness. A staggering 90% of serotonin is synthesised in the gut.

Being on constant alert doesn’t do much for our mood or mental well-being. Nor does having compromised gut flora.

Compromised gut flora is increasingly being linked to psychological conditions, such as depression, as well as physiological conditions including autoimmune disorders.

It is impossible to separate the mind, body and gut.
