The season that asks too much
We are living in the most energetically abundant arc of the year. The days are long, the light is insistent, the social calendar fills up, the garden calls, the children are home, the school year ends, and somewhere beneath all of it, a bone-deep tiredness has been accumulating since January without anyone quite noticing.
Cooling the emotional fire
You are part of the turning year
Perhaps the deepest gift of seasonal living is the reminder it carries. You are not separate from the world you inhabit. The heat that rises in you between May and midsummer is the same fire that blazes in the sun, pulses through the hawthorn, and hums in the long grass. You are part of the same system, responding to the same forces.
This is not a problem to be solved, it is a rhythm to be understood and honoured.
Moon cycles and healing rhythms, honouring the natural intelligence within you
The moon does not apologise for its darkness.
It simply moves through it, quietly and without resistance, knowing that the light will return. That which wanes will also wax. That every phase has its purpose, even the ones that feel empty, or still, or incomplete.
We have always known this, somewhere deep in our bones. Long before alarm clocks and artificial light and the relentless pressure to be productive, our ancestors lived by the rhythms of the natural world. They planted by the moon. They harvested by the moon. They rested, celebrated, and grieved in accordance with the turning of the sky above them.
And then we forgot.
Or rather, we were encouraged to forget. To override, to optimise, to perform at the same level every day, regardless of what our bodies and emotions were trying to communicate. We became disconnected from the very rhythms that were designed to support us.
What Spring teaches us about reinvention
Spring rarely announces itself loudly.
It arrives in subtle shifts. A lighter quality to the morning sky. Buds forming on bare branches long before any flower appears. Soil beginning to warm beneath the surface, quietly, invisibly. To the untrained eye, it can look as though nothing is happening at all. And yet, beneath the ground, everything is changing.
This is one of the things I find most compelling about this season. Spring does not rush. It does not force. It simply responds to conditions, moving forward when the time is right and resting when it is not.
The wintering body
In a world that rarely stops moving, our bodies often carry the quiet wisdom we ignore. They whisper long before they shout, sending subtle signals of fatigue, overwhelm, and the need to rest. Yet many of us override these signals in the name of productivity, responsibility, or habit.
The wisdom of Samhain and ancient insights for modern wellbeing
While the modern world moves quickly, often pushing us to stay “on” all the time, Samhain gently reminds us of something our ancestors knew well:
Wellbeing depends on balance, reflection, and renewal.
Autumn foraging with mindful intention
As the days shorten and the air sharpens with a hint of wood smoke, autumn in the UK invites us into a season of ripening, release, and deep nourishment. The hedgerows darken with berries, the fungi rise from the damp earth, and the trees let fall their bounty of fruits and nuts.
Medicinal teas rooted in Celtic wisdom
In ancient Britain and Ireland, the Celts lived in deep connection with the natural world. Their healers—druids, wise women, and herbalists—crafted remedies from the land’s bounty, passing on a rich tradition of plant medicine. Today, many of these ancient herbs still grow in UK hedgerows and gardens, offering gentle yet effective support for health and wellbeing.
This blog explores a selection of medicinal teas inspired by Celtic herbal lore, balancing their traditional uses with modern contraindications to ensure safe sipping.
Late spring mindful foraging
Late spring is the time when the Earth sings at full volume. Each plant offers not only a physical medicine but a story, a metaphor, a teaching for those who are willing to listen. As you walk the paths and hedgerows of the UK, basket in hand, remember that you are participating in an ancient dialogue between land and soul — one that the Celtic ancestors honoured in every blossom and bee.
Tread gently. Harvest wisely. Drink deeply of the wild medicine offered in love.
The Pink Moon
Under the light of the Pink Moon, gather what nourishes. Release what no longer aligns. And trust that, like the land, you are built for blooming.
Manifestation at Imbolc: As the Earth Awakens, Turn Your Intentions into Growth
